About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Furniture Refinisher to join our team at Kennedy Galleries. As a key member of our restoration team, you will be responsible for restoring and refinishing high-quality furniture pieces to their original glory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Restoration and Refinishing: Prepare, sand, and trim wooden furniture and fixture parts to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Finishing Techniques: Stain or finish wood to specified color, apply toners, highlights, glazes, or shaders to achieve the desired finish, and apply lacquer or other sealers.
  • Decorative Finishing: Decorate wood surfaces to enhance their aesthetic appeal.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Clean, polish, and wax furniture, and make minor repairs to furniture as needed.
  • Material Handling: Work with various types of wood and other materials to complete restoration projects.
Work Environment

As a Furniture Refinisher at Kennedy Galleries, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a team of skilled professionals. You will be responsible for meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Work Setting: You will work in a retail or wholesale furniture store or a furniture repair shop.
  • Physical Capabilities: You must have excellent attention to detail, be able to distinguish between colors, and possess the physical stamina to perform manual labor.
  • Personal Suitability: You must have excellent oral communication skills, be reliable, and a team player.
