Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Care Director, the Senior Care Assistant is responsible for delivering essential daily support to our residents. Available shifts include Days, Evenings, and Nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personal care services to residents
  • Assist with meal service and dining support
  • Engage residents in social and recreational activities
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident living areas and perform light housekeeping tasks
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' conditions
  • Support with admissions, discharges, and transfers
  • Encourage resident involvement in various activities

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Certification as a Residential Care Aide is mandatory
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a residential care setting
  • Registration with the BC Care Aide Registry is required
  • Food Safe Certification is necessary
  • Basic First Aid training is an asset

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to perform physical and mental tasks associated with the role
  • Excellent organizational capabilities
  • Proficiency in operating relevant equipment
