Job Summary:

Farm Credit Canada is seeking a highly skilled Corporate and Commercial Credit Manager to join our team. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for analyzing and adjudicating commercial loan applications, making recommendations based on credit risk management best practices and FCC policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adjudicate and authorize or recommend commercial loans, ensuring compliance with FCC policies and procedures.
  • Review and analyze source documents and proposals for authorization, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Assess and consistently apply corporate and credit risk policy, providing guidance to lending staff as needed.
  • Analyze administration requests such as loan amendments, security amendments and policy exceptions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Coach and mentor lending staff on the credit culture at FCC, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.

  • Strong communicator with a proven ability to build partnerships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Multi-tasker who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solver with advanced analytical skills, able to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Good judgment and strong decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex business scenarios.
  • A degree in business, economics or agriculture economics, supplemented by at least eight years of experience in commercial or corporate lending (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • An understanding of complex corporate and commercial lending and advanced credit analysis, with expertise in corporate lending practices, theories and trends.
  • Knowledge of the agriculture, agribusiness and the food and beverage industries, with a strong understanding of the business landscape.
