Georgian College is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our Facilities Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems at our Barrie campus.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct preliminary assessments and tests to identify failing components and repair or replace parts as needed.
- Plan and execute annual maintenance or start-up of systems.
- Analyze, monitor, and make repairs to the Building Automation System (BAS).
- Maintain and repair gas piping and associated appliances.
- Install and relocate HVAC and plumbing components as required.
- Provide daily maintenance involving brazing, mechanics, and electricity on systems associated with this position.
- Respond to and resolve daily work orders in a timely manner.
- G-1 Gas Fitters License.
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic 313A License.
- Ozone Depletion/Prevention (ODP) Card License.
- Minimum of three years of related HVAC experience in a similar role.
- Computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office and email to produce organized material lists and complete work orders.
- Experience monitoring and maintaining an HVAC system.
- Current Workplace Hazardous Materials System (WHMIS) training.
- Knowledge of local building codes.
- Ability to lift heavy materials.
