About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Supervisor to join our team at Amber Greenhouse & Farms Inc. as a key member of our landscape construction department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of nursery and greenhouse workers, ensuring efficient scheduling and effective supervision to meet project deadlines.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive grounds maintenance plans, including labor and material estimates, to maintain the highest standards of quality and appearance.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Conduct thorough site assessments to determine labor and material requirements, ensuring accurate estimates and efficient project execution.
  • Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative walls, and retaining walls, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Coordinate and supervise landscape construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment, to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Maintain accurate and detailed records of work completed, including labor hours, materials used, and project timelines.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Develop and manage contracts with suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Procure materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for project execution, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Supervise Nursery and Greenhouse Workers: Provide guidance, training, and support to nursery and greenhouse workers, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures, ensuring optimal productivity and quality outcomes.Support for Diverse Groups
    • Mentorship Programs: Offer mentorship opportunities for persons with disabilities, newcomers and refugees, youth, veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
