Nursery Supervisor Job Description

Amber Greenhouse & Farms Inc. is seeking a skilled Nursery Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our horticultural team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursery and greenhouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, supervise, and schedule staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Plan and direct grounds maintenance, including landscape construction and horticultural activities.
  • Plan and estimate labour and materials for projects and tasks.
  • Organize and direct construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other landscape features.
  • Plan, manage, and supervise landscape construction work, including hiring and supervising contractors.
  • Maintain accurate work records and logs to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Tender and administer contracts for goods and services.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers to ensure they have the necessary training and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Establish work schedules and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Knowledge of horticultural practices and principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
