About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at RTR Terra Contracting Ltd. as a key member of our estimating department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Project Analysis: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
  • Cash Flow and Financing: Project cash flow and financing requirements for projects.
  • Tendering Procedures: Advise on tendering procedures and prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Project Size Estimating: Estimate project costs for projects ranging from $0 to $100,000 and $1,500,001 to $4,000,000.
  • Area of Work Experience: Have experience in purchasing, procurement, and contracts, as well as project coordination.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in estimating or a related field.
  • Language: English.
