Role Overview:
The Architectural Coordinator plays a crucial role in delivering architectural services while enhancing the Homeowner Experience. This position involves liaising with external partners such as architects and structural engineers, as well as collaborating with various internal departments including Marketing, Purchasing, Décor, Finance, Land, and Construction to uphold the integrity of the Mattamy brand. Please note that all design tasks are managed through external architects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist team members in achieving departmental objectives as directed by the Architectural Project Manager.
- Prepare budgets and analyze quarterly estimated costs for each community.
- Review and revise architectural drawings to ensure compliance with Mattamy standards and Ontario Building Code (OBC) for permit applications.
- Coordinate the revision process of working drawings, structural updates, and municipal feedback, providing updated documentation to the Construction team.
- Ensure that architectural drawings align with marketing materials, addressing any discrepancies with relevant departments.
- Engage in Value Engineering for new design initiatives.
- Draft architectural memos and details for internal staff and external consultants as needed.
- Compile lists of lot upgrades in accordance with internal guidelines and external architectural control standards, coordinating with the architectural firm.
- Conduct site visits to enhance information on working drawings and assess exterior finishes.
- Manage the electronic storage and distribution of architectural drawings and construction documents.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Architectural Technology from a Community College or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience in construction or architecture, preferably in residential projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information visually through architectural drawings.
- Proficient in drawing applications, particularly AutoCAD.
- Competent in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documents and drawings, ensuring all changes are communicated effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapid changes and propose creative solutions to challenges.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with strong multitasking and management abilities.
- Ability to coordinate and inspire both internal and external stakeholders towards shared objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
