Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and follow Alberta Transportation Traffic Accommodation in Work Zones to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment and complete any minor maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Have knowledge of Hot and Cold Mix Asphalt mixes and their properties to ensure high-quality results.
  • Understand how grade/slope sensors work to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Measure and mark manholes and water valves with the crew as required.
  • Operate skid steer and shovel when necessary.
  • Rake joints and seams, communicating with the roller operator to achieve the best possible results.
  • Load, unload, and move construction materials around the worksite as required.
  • Requires a flexible work schedule, including overtime, weekend, and out-of-town work as required during the construction season.
  • Perform other general labor duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with asphalt processes and work site hazards.
  • Experience with paving equipment operation.
  • Comfortable working outside in variable conditions.
  • A valid Class 5 license is required.
