Job Title: Landscape Labourer

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Landscape Labourer to join our team at The Avara Group Inc. as a permanent employee.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist with landscape constructions, tie and secure plants, weed, prune and trim trees and plants, cut grass, rake and collect refuse, remove litter and garbage, cart and spread topsoil and other materials, lay sod or seed, plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees, apply fertilizers, write daily basic progress reports, water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens, and operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with landscape constructions and installations
  • Tie and secure plants, trees, and shrubs
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants
  • Cut grass and maintain lawns
  • Rake and collect refuse and debris
  • Remove litter and garbage from work sites
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials
  • Lay sod or seed for new lawns
  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees
  • Apply fertilizers and other plant care products
  • Write daily basic progress reports
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment
Requirements
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Experience with chain saws, forklifts, gravel or dump trucks, roto-tillers, small engine equipment, and weed trimmers/edgers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks
  • Physical ability to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and work in a team environment
  • Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, punctuality, creativity, hardworking, and resourcefulness
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and will be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
