Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to our faculty, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resources Operations

    Develop and implement effective HR policies, procedures, and practices to support the University's strategic objectives.

  • Talent Acquisition and Management

    Lead the recruitment and selection process for faculty and staff positions, ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures.

  • Employee Relations and Engagement

    Provide guidance and support to faculty and staff on employment-related matters, including performance management, leave administration, and conflict resolution.

  • Benefits and Compensation

    Administer and manage the University's benefits and compensation programs, ensuring compliance with University policies and external regulations.

  • HR Systems and Technology

    Oversee the implementation and maintenance of HR systems and technology, including Workday and other HR-related software.

  • Reporting and Analytics

    Develop and maintain HR-related reports and analytics to support business decision-making and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience

    Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in HR, with a focus on talent acquisition, employee relations, and benefits administration.

  • Skills and Competencies

    Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
