Purpose

Pattison Agriculture seeks a dedicated Service Operations Leader to cultivate and enhance our service department's capabilities across the organization. This role is instrumental in driving customer satisfaction and maximizing return on investment (ROIC) by refining service department processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with General Managers, Branch Managers, and Service Managers to foster service sales growth, manage staff effectively, and streamline workflow and budgets. A key responsibility will be attracting, retaining, and engaging top talent within the service department.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Partner with executive leadership to shape the vision for Pattison Agriculture's service department.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the strategic business plan for the service department, focusing on expanding billable service hours across all branches.
  • Collaborate with service personnel to establish and monitor annual service department goals and budgets aligned with the organization's financial and operational objectives.
  • Work in tandem with Branch personnel to design, communicate, enforce, and track effective service department processes that ensure customer satisfaction and optimize service department performance.
  • Monitor service department performance metrics such as labor sales, work-in-progress (WIP), and expense control across the organization, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to branch management teams on developing and enhancing WIP controls.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Service Support and Marketing team, create and execute the service department's marketing plan, encompassing advertising, promotional campaigns, and initiatives to drive labor sales growth.
  • Review and refine the organization's customer satisfaction program to strengthen customer relationships and implement relevant training programs for service support personnel.
  • Support branch personnel in recruiting and developing skilled service staff.
  • Work closely with the Director of Service Support and Safety Manager to develop, promote, and implement safety protocols within the service department, ensuring a secure work environment for all employees.

Critical Capabilities

  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Experience utilizing computer software such as Microsoft Office, Dealer Business Systems, and internet-based platforms.
  • Strong self-management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with individuals and groups.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal and external reports.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in agricultural dealership operations, with a technical or parts background preferred.
  • Understanding of work order processing and key service department metrics.
