We are seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention and Control Specialist to join our team at Deer Lodge Centre. As an Infection Prevention and Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control in our healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with provincial and regional guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide education and training on infection prevention and control best practices.
- Investigate and manage outbreaks of infectious diseases, developing and implementing plans to prevent further transmission.
- Provide guidance and support to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and environmental cleaning and disinfection.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regional and provincial infection prevention and control teams to stay up-to-date on best practices and guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, such as nursing, microbiology, or public health.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Certification in Infection Control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Incorporated (CICCE) is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement solutions to infection prevention and control challenges.
This is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and may be required to travel to multiple sites within the Deer Lodge Centre network.
