About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Fortuna Foam Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure accurate installation of drywall.
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Install suspended metal ceiling grids and place panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation, including measuring, cutting, and fitting drywall sheets.
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency and apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster.
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs, metal stud framing, and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings.
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation to ensure a comfortable and energy-efficient work environment.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts using laser alignment systems and erect scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms as needed.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drywall installation.
  • Ability to work at heights and in a dusty and noisy environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

Language and Work Term

The successful candidate will be fluent in English and work a 40-hour week.
