About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Maxan Drywall Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring, ensuring a smooth and even surface for finishing.
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets, maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detail.
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms, ensuring a safe and stable working environment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications, applying knowledge of drywall installation techniques and materials.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, using aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification to ensure safe and efficient installation.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts, utilizing laser alignment systems to ensure accurate and precise measurements.
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to complete projects on time and within budget, demonstrating excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Requirements
  • 3-4 years of experience in drywall installation, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, Lather Trade Certification, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Excellent physical stamina, with the ability to work at heights, lift heavy loads, and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to complete projects on time and within budget.
