The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our Rehabilitation Services team. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough medical histories and perform standardized tests to determine physical diagnoses
- Develop holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals
- Supervise and evaluate physiotherapy students and assistants
- Collaborate with the clinical team to determine goals and objectives, evaluate team effectiveness, and solve problems
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapist with:
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
- Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
- Excellent computer skills, including statistics input and word processing
- Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
- Annual Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and certification (WHMIS)
- Competencies in other languages, with French being an asset
Hours
This is a permanent full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. Shifts may include weekends in a rotational schedule, and some travel between sites may be required.
Compensation and Incentives
The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $42.89 and may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
