Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Specialist to join our team at an organic processing facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating the plant and ensuring the efficient treatment of wastewater.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform water sample analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Monitor and control the centrifuge process to optimize treatment efficiency
  • Operate a Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system to remove suspended solids
  • Use Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems to monitor and control plant operations
  • Assist with truck changeout and maintenance activities
  • Make process control decisions to ensure optimal treatment outcomes
  • Train and mentor other operators to ensure a high level of competence
  • Monitor and record operating conditions to identify areas for improvement
  • Diagnose and solve operational problems to minimize downtime
  • Conduct field tests to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Monitor and order process chemicals to maintain optimal treatment conditions
  • Perform minor maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability
  • Ensure safety and environmental compliance at all times

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Associate's degree in a related field preferred
  • Over five years of experience in wastewater treatment or a related field
  • Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes and regulations
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Budget preparation knowledge
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems and SCADA technology
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and rotating shifts
  • Commitment to compliance and safety
