Pharmacy Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process customer prescriptions, ensuring all necessary information is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain patient and drug information files, ensuring confidentiality and security.
  • Check and verify pharmaceutical products prepared by other technicians or unregulated personnel.
  • Prepare prescription labels, affixing them to prescription containers, and reconcile accounts and collect outstanding monies from patients.
  • Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, measure, mix, and reconstitute medications, as well as price prescriptions and prepare receipts.
  • Stock medications and related supplies, rotate, and monitor stock levels, maintaining a perpetual inventory system in Kroll.
  • Maintain customer privacy and confidentiality, adhering to professional standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician certification and maintained registration with the appropriate pharmacy association.
  • High level of professionalism, knowledge of professional discipline, technical specialties, and related processes.
  • Ability to implement practical procedures of systems that are moderately complex, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Experience with Kroll an asset.
  • Respect for the confidential and individual rights of our customers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one and over the telephone with coworkers, supervisors, suppliers, physicians, and customers.
