Our firm is dedicated to delivering comprehensive tax, accounting, assurance, and consulting services tailored for small to medium-sized enterprises, individual clients, and not-for-profit organizations throughout the Durham region and beyond.
As we continue to grow, we are in search of a seasoned Lead Financial Accountant to enhance our capabilities and address the increasing demand for our professional services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Minimum of three (3) years of pertinent experience in public accounting.
- Expertise in assurance, accounting, and taxation.
- Strong grasp of business principles, accounting practices, management, and development strategies.
- Proficiency in accounting and tax software, including Caseware, Cantax, Quickbooks, and Simply Accounting; familiarity with other software is advantageous.
- Competence in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with a high level of overall computer literacy.
- Ability to perform duties from the office environment.
- Conduct audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements for a diverse range of private and not-for-profit entities.
- Identify, assess, and resolve accounting challenges.
- Prepare various tax returns (T1, T2 & T3) and associated regulatory forms (T4, T5, T5018, HST, EHT, WSIB, etc.).
- Apply knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE, ASNPO, etc.).
- Address technical issues with engagement managers and partners.
- Provide support to clients utilizing accounting software.
