Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Equipment Specialist to join our team at PHONORX. This role involves providing exceptional on-site customer service and ensuring the optimal performance of telecommunications systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostics: Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, making necessary adjustments or repairs to telecommunications devices.
  • Inspection: Monitor and evaluate the functionality of telecommunications apparatus.
  • Installation: Set up, organize, and maintain telephone systems, wiring, and related hardware.
  • Repair: Address and rectify defective telecommunications equipment.
  • Testing: Conduct tests on installed telephone systems to identify transmission issues.
  • Analysis: Review test outcomes and modify or repair switching systems, networks, and associated software.
  • Reporting: Complete and maintain detailed service and test reports.
  • Troubleshooting: Determine the nature and location of issues and coordinate the dispatch of repair personnel as needed.
  • Installation of Systems: Implement electromechanical, analog, and digital trunking systems in telecommunications facilities.
  • Training: Mentor apprentices in the field.
  • Testing Operations: Utilize computerized systems to perform service tests on customer lines and equipment.
  • Physical Work: Climb and work at heights on poles and ladders.
  • Cable Management: Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets as required.
  • Work Assignments: Determine and prioritize work tasks effectively.
  • Internet Setup: Install cable modems and software for Internet connectivity.
  • Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep and repair of aerial and underground transmission systems.
  • Component Repair: Fix or replace faulty cables, power supplies, and amplifiers.
