Position Overview

Aramark is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Manager to oversee the cleaning operations for a Senior Living facility. This role involves managing a team of approximately 20 unionized hourly staff, ensuring that all housekeeping services align with Aramark's established standards while adhering to budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the facility's cleanliness and safety by following Aramark's standardized protocols, as well as PIDAC and OHS regulations.
  2. Supervise the cleaning of communal areas, staircases, public restrooms, living spaces, and offices to meet daily operational standards.
  3. Implement routines and enhancements to align with operational goals.
  4. Oversee the procurement of supplies and chemicals, while managing inventory effectively.
  5. Maintain and troubleshoot cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
  6. Foster team development and manage the performance of team members.
  7. Establish positive communication and collaborative problem-solving strategies.
  8. Build and maintain constructive relationships with staff, management, residents, and client representatives.
  9. Prepare financial forecasts, monitor expenditures, and ensure departmental budgets are adhered to.
  10. Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  1. 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within a healthcare or senior living environment.
  2. Proven knowledge of cleaning protocols and equipment usage.
  3. Comprehensive understanding of cleaning chemical agents, WHMIS, and OHS regulations.
  4. Familiarity with PIDAC best practices for infection prevention and control.
  5. Experience managing a unionized workforce is advantageous; strong management skills are essential.
  6. Ability to perform under pressure and provide effective, innovative solutions to challenges.
  7. Strong implementation skills, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset.
  8. Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  9. Exhibit integrity, patience, a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and professional dedication.
  10. Covid vaccination is not mandatory; willingness to receive an annual flu shot is expected.
  11. Successful candidates must pass a Criminal Background Check and a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
