Job Summary

Wood is seeking a highly skilled CAD Operator to join our Drafting Department in Vancouver, BC. As a vital member of our engineering team, you will support project teams in delivering high-quality engineering documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed CAD designs using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other relevant software.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of engineering documents.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical safety design codes and industrial drafting standards to ensure compliance.
  • Create plans, profiles, and cross sections from surveys and maps, and ensure accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Computer Aided Design technology from an accredited University/College or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in direct industrial, mining, or process plant experience or transmission and distribution design.
  • Proficient in MS Office, 2D, Isometric CAD drafting, and manual drafting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with GIS, Raster Design, or Auto Turn.
  • Knowledge of LISP, VBA programming for AutoCAD.
  • Experience with 3D modeling, including BIM.
