Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate rent rolls and vacancy loss documentation.
  • Execute month-end accounts receivable and general ledger closing procedures.
  • Prepare and review journal entries for accuracy.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly bank activity reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Audit move-in/move-out transactions within accounting software by interpreting leases.
  • Review security deposit accounting for resident move-outs in accounting software.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and input budgets into accounting software.
  • Collaborate with external accountants regarding year-end financial statement reviews.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience as a Property Financial Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of accounting regulations and practices.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and financial accounting software; familiarity with Yardi is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
