Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Physiotherapist

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist to become part of the Long Term Care team. We invite you to explore this opportunity to contribute to our mission.

Responsibilities of the Physiotherapist at VCH include:

Independently planning, delivering, assessing, and coordinating care to meet the needs of clients and families facing physical challenges and health conditions across various settings. Collaborating with family members, interdisciplinary team members, educational resources, and other healthcare professionals to address the functional, physical, social, cognitive, and environmental needs of clients, aiming to enhance their capabilities and support their recovery or adaptation. Engaging in the organization and delivery of physiotherapy services by participating in quality assurance initiatives, team meetings, research, and educational activities.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

A degree in physiotherapy or rehabilitation medicine. Full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC). Eligibility for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC). A valid BC Driver's License, with local travel necessitating the use of a personal vehicle.

Skills & Competencies

Fundamental understanding of evidence-based clinical practices relevant to the designated program or area. Basic knowledge of standardized physiotherapy assessments and measures. Comprehensive understanding of physiotherapy theory and practice within a client-centered care model. Basic familiarity with research methodologies. General awareness of other healthcare disciplines and their roles in client care. Proven ability to function effectively as part of a team. Demonstrated capability to educate and empower clients in managing their health. Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients, both individually and in group settings. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with others. Proficiency in providing insightful consultations. Ability to prioritize workload in collaboration with others in a complex healthcare environment. Capacity to identify when referrals to other healthcare professionals are necessary. Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position. Proficiency in utilizing equipment and techniques pertinent to physiotherapy treatment. Basic computer skills.

Additional Information

Work hours, including days off and work areas, may be subject to change based on operational needs and applicable agreements. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per current health regulations, all employees of Vancouver Coastal Health are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have received the most recent updated vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be necessary.
