About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hydro Tech Inc. as a Hydroelectric Project Engineer. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems for our hydroelectric projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Conduct research and analysis to design and develop mechanical systems, including feasibility studies, system performance evaluations, and optimization of system components.
  • Project Management: Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Technical Expertise: Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures, investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems, and develop risk management plans.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Business Development: Assess business opportunities and develop strategies to drive growth and innovation in the hydroelectric industry.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association, Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Skills: SolidWorks software, AutoCAD, MS Windows, MS Office, MS Excel, Primavera, and experience with hydroelectric project management.
