Job Summary:

AutoCanada, a leading North American multi-location automobile dealership, is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Procurement Expert to join its team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing vehicles for the company's wholesale export program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed all goals and objectives for the company, including vehicles purchased and gross profit margin for vehicles acquired.
  • Evaluate, appraise, and purchase vehicles at other car dealerships, fleet providers, and auto auctions, both in person and online.
  • Travel as needed to attend buying events, including weekly auctions.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of wholesale vehicle values based on make, model, and equipment.
  • Continuously monitor wholesale trends in the automotive market in Canada and the USA.
  • Provide management with accurate reporting on trends, purchase, and gross profits.
  • Review inventory daily to ensure the proper mix of inventory.
  • Familiarity with auction platforms is preferred.
  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, monthly, and on-demand reporting that reflects activities associated with the wholesale buying program.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local laws governing wholesale and retail automobile sales.
  • Make financially sound purchasing decisions for the company.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of relevant vehicle sales experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Enthusiasm for the automotive industry.
  • Valid driver's license.
