About the Role

We are seeking a talented Animator to join our team at Framestore, a multi-Oscar-winning creative studio. As an Animator, you will be responsible for producing high-quality animation that brings stories to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with directors and producers to design, plan, and create beautiful images
  • Work closely with the lead animator and animation supervisor to ensure high-quality animation
  • Provide suggestions and feedback to improve character setup, visual quality, rigs, and tool functionality
  • Respect schedules and deadlines, working effectively alone or as part of a team
  • Communicate with the production team and supervisor regarding schedules and deadlines
  • Train in the use of new tools, software, data, and related technology

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an animator in a studio environment
  • Thorough knowledge of Maya
  • Knowledge of movements, weights, balance, textures, and shapes
  • Knowledge of rigs and typical rigging set-ups, animation processes, and data transfer between tools
  • Reliability, ability to manage time well, and meet deadlines, even under pressure
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills within the team and with other departments
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and technical skills

Nice to Have

  • Working knowledge of modelling, rigging, and scripting with Mel or Python
  • Experience working with motion capture data and/or classical animation or traditional art experience
  • Knowledge of human and animal anatomy and the ability to draw from life
