We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician to join our team within the nuclear sector.

ROLE OBJECTIVE

To uphold the BWXT quality assurance standards on various Field Services projects.
To conduct independent assessments on quality-related inspections.

JOB STRUCTURE AND COMMUNICATION

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Quality Control Manager. While there are no formal direct reports, the role may involve overseeing a small team of Quality Control Technicians.

Communication Skills

Ability to effectively communicate with Site Managers, Field Engineers, and Authorized Inspectors. Proficient in using appropriate technical vocabulary. Work under technical supervision and guidance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute moderately complex technical tasks that support ongoing quality assurance initiatives. Conduct quality control activities on various projects/sites, including:

• Monitoring processes through Method Implementation and Test Plans (MITPs).

• Ensuring compliance with established procedures during project execution.

• Verifying and maintaining training documentation electronically or in physical records.

• Performing Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) responsibilities where applicable. Be prepared to work in radiological environments. Carry out material receipt and in-process inspections to ensure adherence to BWXT standards, technical specifications, and the ASME code. Assist in the review and completion of Work Packages and History Dockets. Support procedure and MITP evaluations. Conduct vendor source inspections as necessary.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Post-secondary diploma in NDE/Quality Technology or a related field. 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience. CGSB Liquid Penetrant Level 2 Certification is mandatory. Additional CGSB Level 2 Certification in other NDE methods is advantageous. CWB Level 1 or 2 Certification is a plus. Willingness to travel extensively for site work (up to 70%). A solid understanding of all NDE processes is beneficial. Familiarity with the ASME Code is preferred. Comfortable working in confined spaces and radiation environments. Availability to work nights, weekends, and statutory holidays as required. Flexibility to work beyond 70 hours per week. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
