The Perinatal Nurse:

•Delivers high-quality, client-centered care to pregnant women, newborns, and their families in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

•Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of client care.

•Demonstrates expertise in perinatal nursing, utilizing evidence-based practice and critical thinking to make informed decisions.

This is a Casual opportunity, offering flexibility and variety in scheduling. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights, rotating from 07:00 to 19:15, 19:00 to 07:15 hours.

Interior Health offers a competitive hourly wage, effective April 1, 2024, ranging from $41.42 to $55.91.

About this location/unit:

The Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital's Maternal Child unit provides a unique opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including Antenatal, Intrapartum, and Postpartum patients and families. The unit is a combined department, also caring for pediatric patients and those in the NICU, based on operational requirements.

KBRH is the regional site serving the majority of the West Kootenay Region, offering maternity care for the continuum of pregnancy and postpartum, as well as pediatric inpatient services and a level 1b NICU.

We provide a collaborative team approach, with access to educational opportunities, including MoreOB events, ilearns, and in-house training. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a perinatal nurse with high and low-risk delivery experience, comfortable with decision-making and a team player. This position also offers Pediatric and NICU experiences, making it an ideal fit for someone willing to learn new skills.
