Job Summary

The University of Guelph is seeking a reliable and physically able individual to join our grounds team as a Snow Shoveler. This temporary part-time position involves manually clearing snow on assigned routes, spreading ice melter as needed, and performing other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clear snow from assigned routes
  • Spread ice melter as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

Candidates must be reliable, able to work effectively individually or as part of a team, and able to accept instruction and communicate well. The successful candidate must be physically able and willing to perform the entire range of tasks associated with this position on a sustained basis and in all kinds of weather.

Working Conditions

The usual workday begins at 6:00 a.m., however, during significant snow events, shovelers may be called in as early as 2:30 a.m. Actual availability of work will be contingent on the weather.

Employee Benefits

Employee Type: Temporary Hourly rate: $17.25
