Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Site Services department in Eureka, Nunavut. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment used in road construction and maintenance, as well as material handling work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and graders to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, and gravel.
  • Operate snow blowers and plough trucks to remove snow from roads and parking lots.
  • Operate heavy equipment to spread or compact road surface materials during road construction and maintenance.
  • Operate heavy equipment to move, load, and unload cargo.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Valid class driver's license.
  • Clean driver's abstract.
  • A minimum of five years of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Ability to operate with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
