Job Description

Simply Smart Child Care Centre & Montessori/Iroquois is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Montessori Educator to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Management: Design and implement a prepared environment that caters to the individual needs of each child, including the creation of materials and activities to support their development.
  • Lesson Planning: Develop and deliver engaging lessons in various areas, including Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Culture, to promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Child Development: Encourage independence, socialization, and individual work time to promote a well-rounded learning experience.
  • Collaboration: Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Health and Safety: Implement and maintain health and safety protocols, including daily observation forms, sanitary practices, and environmental assessment tools.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest educational research and best practices through ongoing education and professional development courses.
  • Outdoor Activities: Participate in outdoor activities with children for at least 2 hours per day to promote physical and emotional well-being.
Requirements:
  • Montessori Certification: MACTE or AMI certification is required.
  • Experience: Over one year of experience working with children in a Montessori environment.
  • Qualifications: Standard First Aid CPR C+, Vulnerable Sector Check, and up-to-date immunization records, including a 2-step TB test.
