Job Title: Early Childhood Educator - Child Development Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Happy Times for Kids Preschool of Oakville Inc. As a Child Development Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging educational programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children

Requirements:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Reliability and ability to work as a team player

Work Setting: Child care centre

Supervision: 1 to 2 people

Experience: 1 to less than 7 months

Language: English

Hours of Work: 38 hours per week
