Genetic Counsellor, Hereditary Cancer Specialist

BC Cancer is seeking a highly skilled Genetic Counsellor to join our Hereditary Cancer Program. As a Genetic Counsellor, you will play a critical role in providing genetic counselling to patients and their families, helping them understand their risk of developing hereditary cancers.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct genetic counselling sessions with patients and their families to assess their risk of developing hereditary cancers.
- Develop and implement individualized cancer risk management plans for patients and their families.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care to patients with hereditary cancer syndromes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines in genetic counselling and hereditary cancer.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Master's degree in Genetic Counselling or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in genetic counselling or a related field.
- Board certification or eligibility with the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors or the American Board of Genetic Counselling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
