Senior Total Wealth Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Total Wealth Planner to join our team at Scotia Wealth Management. As a key member of our Financial Planning Advisory team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial planning advice and support to high net worth clients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver end-to-end goals-based financial plans by gathering key data and information, preparing and analyzing financial plans, and presenting them to clients.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and champion for financial planning, providing ongoing professional advice on complex strategies and fostering collaboration among team members.
  • Build relationships with external experts, internal advisors, and clients to drive collaboration and deliver exceptional service.
  • Contribute to the effective functioning of the Financial Planning Advisory team by participating in team learning and development activities, building effective working relationships, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
Functional Competencies:
  • Comprehensive technical understanding of the financial planning process, including investments, asset protection, retirement, estate planning, cash management, and taxation issues.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts in an easily understood manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and trust with clients and team members.
  • Working knowledge of the Wealth Management business line, including the value proposition, products, and services provided to high net worth clients.
Requirements:
  • Professional designation: CPA.
  • University degree.
  • Accredited financial planning designation (IQPF applicable for Quebec).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a high net worth financial planner.

Pursuant to a language needs assessment conducted by Scotiabank, the successful candidate will be required to be able to communicate in English in addition to French because they will be required to work closely with other groups from head office who operate primarily in English and they will serve and English-speaking clientele.
