Coast Mental Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals with complex needs related to psychiatric disability, addiction, and trauma. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work under the direction of the Program Director and Clinical Coordinator to provide a broad range of nursing functions and direct care, including psychiatric and physical assessments, crisis interventions, medication administration, and group facilitation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide trauma-informed care to individuals with complex needs, including those with a history of homelessness, severe addiction, mental illness, and trauma.
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct psychiatric and physical assessments, and provide crisis interventions as needed.
- Administer medications and provide education to clients on medication management.
- Facilitate group sessions and provide individual support to clients.
- Collaborate with community resources and agencies to provide comprehensive care to clients.
- Graduation from a recognized program for Licensed Practical Nurses and ability to maintain full practicing license with the BCCNM.
- Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Criminal Records Clearance from the BC Ministry of Justice.
- Proof of full Covid-19 immunization.
- Tuberculosis Clearance (done within the past 6 months).
- Immunization Records.
- WHMIS Certificate.
