Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our team at the York Region District School Board. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of speech-language pathology services for students with communication needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Speech-Language Pathologists: Collaborate with our Speech-Language Pathologists to provide support and guidance to students with communication difficulties.
  • Implement Communication Strategies: Develop and implement communication strategies to support students with diverse needs.
  • Provide Workshops and Training: Design and deliver workshops and training sessions to support students with communication disorders.
  • Maintain Records and Data: Collect and maintain accurate records and data to support student programming and progress.
  • Participate in Meetings and Committees: Participate in meetings and committees to support the development and implementation of student programs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Secondary School Graduation Diploma with two years of post-secondary education and a one-year Communicative Disorders Assistant graduate certificate.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid Ontario Driver's License and have access to own transportation.
