About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at Glenda J Guevara Cabrera. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of our buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Building Layouts: Utilize measuring tools to create accurate layouts in compliance with building codes.
  • Carpentry and Assembly: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel.
  • Construction and Installation: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Finishing Touches: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Project Management: Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Training and Supervision: Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Estimation and Planning: Estimate costs and materials required for projects.
Work Environment

As a Framing Carpenter, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying work sites. You will be exposed to noisy and dusty conditions.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Possess an Other trades certificate or diploma and 3-4 years of experience in the trade, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Hold a Carpenter Trade Certification.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to perform tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
  • Work Schedule: Work a standard 40-hour week with occasional overtime required.
