Job Title: Director, Corporate Financing

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Corporate Financing to join our team at BDC. As a key member of our Corporate Financing department, you will be responsible for sourcing, developing, and recommending high-quality transactions that align with our credit policies and risk parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify business sectors with significant growth potential and develop innovative strategies to structure opportunities for entrepreneurs.
  • Develop and manage account and influencer relationships to grow BDC Corporate Financing assets and ensure an excellent risk/return ratio.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and due diligence activities on all proposals to ensure compliance with BDC policies and procedures.
  • Present proposals to the Corporate Financing Underwriting Group, including all necessary analyses, documentation, and risk assessments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Corporate Financing customers, delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining ongoing relationships.
  • Stay up-to-date on market conditions, industry practices, and financial results for existing and potential clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Business Administration with a major in accounting.
  • Post-graduate degree in Business and/or CFA designation and/or relevant professional designation an asset.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in business development, client relationship management, and financial services.
  • Demonstrated strength in business development, analytical skills, and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to sell financial services to demanding and sophisticated clients.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized and proactive with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Bilingualism an asset.
