Homewood Health is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to patients with addiction and mental health diagnoses.
Job Summary:We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse to provide nursing care to patients in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care to patients with addictions and/or mental health diagnoses
- Contribute to fluctuating patient care needs according to CNO standards, RNAO Best Practice Guidelines, and specific program philosophy
- Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments
- Ensure necessary clinical assessments are initiated following admission and at various other times
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams and individual team members as appropriate
- Act as a preceptor, mentor, coach, or resource nurse as needed
- Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
- Up to 6 months of experience in general nursing practice preferred
- Current CPR certification; CPMHN (C) would be an asset
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA), documentation standards (CNO), and privacy legislation (PHIPA)
- Experience working with patients who have a broad range of addiction and psychiatric diagnoses preferred
