POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Cost Estimation Specialist, you will be instrumental in delivering precise and dependable cost assessments for technical services. Your key role will involve evaluating job specifications, analyzing relevant data, and formulating comprehensive estimates that meet client expectations. You will work closely with account managers, clients, and various stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality estimates.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Estimate Development
    1. Demonstrate the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
    2. Conduct in-depth research to gather information on labor expenses, materials, production timelines, and other pertinent factors.
    3. Comprehend the scope of the estimate, including technical specifications and requirements to accurately gauge the necessary resources.
    4. Determine the materials required for the estimated project scope.
    5. Refer to historical data from prior projects to guide current estimates.
    6. Evaluate past performance, costs, and productivity to enhance accuracy.
    7. Employ software tools for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
    8. Generate precise and detailed estimates for technical services.
    9. Ensure that estimates conform to industry standards and best practices.
    10. Conduct risk assessments to account for potential uncertainties.
    11. Review proposals and quotes from subcontractors or suppliers.
    12. Establish strong relationships with key vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
    13. Collaborate with technicians and vendors to confirm pricing and material costs.
    14. Prepare estimate reports or bids for client approval.
    15. Present estimates to clients, account managers, and other relevant stakeholders.
    16. Address any inquiries or concerns related to the estimates.
    17. Ensure that estimates facilitate profitable business decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  1. 1-3 years of experience in cost estimation.
  2. University Degree, College Diploma, or Trades Background – or equivalent experience.
  3. Proficient in estimating software, tools, and MS Excel is advantageous.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  5. Client-focused, proactive, and results-oriented mindset.
  6. Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Meticulous attention to quality, accuracy, and detail.
