About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our team at D. Rocha Build's. As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from residential construction to commercial renovations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of layouts and designs for construction projects, using measuring tools and software.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems, adhering to building codes and regulations.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including industrial plants and other establishments.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Ability to work at heights, in noisy environments, and in dusty conditions.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Working Conditions
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Handling heavy loads and working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Tight deadlines and a large workload.
Equipment and Machinery Experience
  • Hand tools and safety equipment, including steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles.
