Overview of the Position

The Engineering Department plays a crucial role in upholding the standards of the hotel. As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will be tasked with the upkeep and repair of the hotel's physical assets, ensuring they meet the quality, cleanliness, and safety standards expected by Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. Your friendly demeanor and proactive approach will enhance guest satisfaction.

In this role, the ideal candidate should possess a diverse skill set in various aspects of hotel and home maintenance. You should be well-versed in basic construction techniques, maintain organization in your work, and communicate effectively with a positive outlook. We seek skilled craftsmen and craftswomen to fulfill these responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend to guest room maintenance requests
  • Perform minor drywall repairs and painting tasks
  • Replace light bulbs as needed
  • Conduct minor plumbing repairs
  • Handle basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Resolve issues with television services
  • Address guest door lock malfunctions
  • Conduct routine inspections of mechanical areas and equipment
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Candidates will be considered for this position if they possess the following experience:

  • Proficiency in general carpentry (both rough and finish)
  • Experience in painting (interior and exterior) and drywall repair (including patching and caulking)
  • Knowledge of minor plumbing and electrical systems
  • Skills in flooring repair and installation, along with general home maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
