As a Financial Program Consultant, you will deliver specialized financial analysis and strategic planning support to various healthcare initiatives. This role involves the integration and interpretation of financial and clinical data to facilitate effective resource management. The Financial Program Consultant will collaborate with Directors, Managers, and Physicians to coordinate their annual operating budgets, analyze discrepancies, and oversee external reporting obligations.

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is dedicated to serving the community and offers a range of specialized services, including but not limited to: Stroke, Cardiac, Oncology, Neonatal Intensive Care, and Mental Health services. Financial and Statistical Analysis of Programs

Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial and statistical outcomes, business cases, and budgets. Perform trending and forecasting of program performance. Provide actionable recommendations to program management, financial leadership, and senior executives based on analytical findings. Liaise with program staff and finance personnel regarding results, and occasionally with vendors concerning invoices.

Budget Development Support for Programs and Leadership

Collaborate with programs to formulate their budgets. Assist directors and program leaders with budget assumptions and consolidation processes.

Financial Policy and Tool Education for Program Areas

Educate new managers and staff on budget tools, the Meditech general ledger, and necessary MIS guidelines. Advise program management on budgets, MIS reporting, and Ministry financial/statistical requirements.

External Reporting and Communication Responsibilities

Review and assist programs with statistical reporting for provincial agencies. Communicate with external clients regarding reporting outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Completion of a university degree program (B.Comm, M.B.A. or equivalent) and/or professional designation (CMA/CGA/CA).

Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of financial analysis experience within a healthcare environment.

Competencies:

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff. Strong organizational and planning abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines. Advanced skills in data management and statistical analysis. Commitment to the vision, mission, and values of RVH. Proficiency in Microsoft applications is essential.

All applicants must possess a minimum educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent and demonstrate a proven track record of workplace excellence through strong job performance and attendance.

As a Regional Health Centre, RVH operates 24/7 to provide necessary patient care. Depending on the program, availability for weekdays, weekends, and all shifts may be required.
