Key Responsibilities- Provide Preoperative Care: Utilize your expertise to provide preoperative care to surgical patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care before undergoing endoscopy and brachytherapy procedures.
- Function as an Endoscopy/PARR Nurse: Work collaboratively with our team to provide endoscopy and post-operative recovery care to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Identify Patient Needs: Use your clinical expertise to identify patient needs and consult with other healthcare disciplines as necessary to ensure comprehensive care.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate patient-related information to healthcare team members through documentation and verbal reports, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Rounds: Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients.
- Admit, Transfer, or Discharge Patients: Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to agency policies and clinic/nursing department directives.
- Support Patient Education: Assist patients in understanding their treatment plans and ensure they are aware of services available at BC Cancer and in the community.
- Graduation from an Approved School of Nursing: Possess a degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current Practicing Registration: Hold current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Recent Clinical Experience: Possess two years of recent related clinical nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- PARR Certification or Equivalent: Hold PARR Certification or equivalent experience.
- CPR Certification: Possess current CPR (Level C) Certification.
- Comprehensive Orientation Program: Participate in our comprehensive nursing orientation program to ensure a smooth transition into your new role.
