Job Summary:

Boart Longyear is seeking a skilled Driller to join our team in the field of underground coring. As a Driller, you will be responsible for operating drilling equipment and conducting coring operations in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate drilling equipment, including rotary and core drills, to extract core samples from underground formations.
  • Conduct pre-start checks and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
  • Monitor drilling operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal results.
  • Collect and handle core samples, and prepare them for transportation to the laboratory.
  • Perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment and tools.
  • Work safely and follow established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Sufficient language skills, literacy, and numeracy skills to perform all job-related tasks.
  • Labour background considered an asset.
  • 2+ years of directly related experience.
  • Exposure to different drilling environments and techniques is preferred.

Working Conditions:

The Driller will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. The successful candidate must be physically fit and able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
