Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold respect for cultural diversity, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of both staff and clients
- Mentor and coach clinical supervisors in their responsibilities for care delivery and support for frontline teams and patients and their families
- Oversee care and service delivery metrics and clinical performance indicators
- Engage in the recruitment, orientation, ongoing supervision, and performance evaluation of clinical supervisors
- Ensure all mandatory training and professional development are completed
- Develop and manage the on-call schedule for clinical supervisors
- Address clinical inquiries from staff, contractors, funders, clients, and families
- Review client safety incidents and take part in investigations and resolutions
- Provide clinical leadership at the district level
- Supervise Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities related to care and service, including staff involvement and problem-solving initiatives
- Ensure adherence to ParaMed policies, procedures, and legal standards for yourself and all staff
- Participate in essential care conferences with healthcare teams, contractors, and funders
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including government agencies, healthcare professionals, and community resources
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and professional growth through participation in conferences, committees, and networks
Qualifications:
- Active registration as a Registered Nurse with the provincial regulatory body
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred
- At least three (3) years in a formal nursing leadership position required
- Minimum of two years' experience as a practicing Registered Nurse in a community setting
- Certification in Community Health Nursing with CNA certification preferred
- Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) preferred
- Familiarity with relevant healthcare legislation, including the Mental Health Act, Substitute Decisions Act, Healthcare Consent Act, and Privacy/Personal Health Information Act
- Knowledge of care standards for palliative, wound, IV therapy, and other specialties to provide guidance on best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with clients, families, contractors, and staff to resolve conflicts
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility in work hours to meet operational demands
- Awareness of community resources available for clients and families
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR, completed within Canada within the last 12 months
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Word and Excel
- Ability to provide a current, clear criminal background check with Vulnerable Position Screening (VPS)
