Position Overview

The RN will work across various clinical environments, taking responsibility for the assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of patient care.

Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, the RN guarantees the provision of client-focused care, assisting patients and their families in adapting to evolving healthcare needs.

The RN showcases a specialized knowledge base, grounding their practice in nursing science along with insights from other scientific and humanistic disciplines.

In rural community hospitals, a diverse range of services is provided, and depending on the location, the RN may need to be proficient in multiple clinical areas.

This job description encompasses various scenarios where nurses may be required to operate in one or more areas necessitating advanced training and experience.


Work Schedule: Rotating shifts, including Days and Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with current registration from the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Specialized Preparation:

  • Emergency: Advanced preparation in an Emergency Department clinical specialty or equivalent education and experience.
  • Perinatal: Advanced preparation in a Perinatal clinical specialty or equivalent education and experience.
Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven ability to conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and deliver nursing care through appropriate interventions.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, the public, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate relevant data to solve problems effectively.
  • Commitment to client-centered care that respects diverse cultures and advocates for social justice.
  • Ability to convey essential health care information to clients and others.
