The Global Youth Leadership Fellowship Program offers an exceptional chance for aspiring young leaders in Canada to enhance their professional journey with an international perspective. This program combines a rigorous training seminar with a practical overseas placement, allowing Fellows to gain invaluable experience in global development while contributing to reputable local organizations.

Participants will engage in an eight-month assignment in regions such as Africa or Asia, collaborating with agencies and partners of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), recognized as one of the most esteemed international development entities worldwide.

Prior to their international placement, selected Fellows will partake in a comprehensive three-week seminar in Ottawa, designed to equip them with essential skills and knowledge necessary for impactful contributions to their host organizations. This seminar features workshops led by distinguished professionals in the field of international development, both from Canada and abroad.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Global Youth Leadership Fellowship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada
  • Be 30 years of age or younger at the time of application
  • Exhibit qualities and characteristics of a global citizen
  • Possess at least an undergraduate university degree
