Senior Manager, Contract Management

Nova Scotia Health is a leading provider of health services in Nova Scotia, with a strong commitment to innovation and excellence. We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our team and drive our research and innovation initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the expansion and enhancement of research and innovation in the Nova Scotia Health Authority and its academic partner institutions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of processes to resource, manage, and operate major installations of equipment and facilities to support clinical research.
  • Cultivate institutional, government, and industry partnerships that lead to financial synergies and/or investment in research and innovation at Nova Scotia Health.
  • Provide liaison with external agencies, government, institutions, research teams, and collaborators to advance research and innovation initiatives.
  • Manage government relations with respect to research and innovation, and facilitate research and innovation collaboration between Nova Scotia Health and other health science institutions.
  • Develop and oversee business planning for Research Development and Planning, and ensure strategic research and innovation directions are within the context of the strategic directions of Nova Scotia Health.
  • Mentor research group members, project managers, and team members to advance research and innovation initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. health sciences related field) with a strong research foundation.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in research administration combined with a minimum of 7 years' experience in management and supervision of personnel.
  • Knowledge of the health sciences research enterprises in a university setting, research funding agencies and programs, and experience working with diversity of staff and stakeholders.

This is a temporary, full-time position with an expected end date of October 2025. The main office will be located at The Innovation Hub in Halifax, NS.
